Freedom has provided a forum for views on religious freedom by a variety of civil and human rights leaders, members of the clergy and the media. Among them: the late Dr. Leo Pfeffer—author, attorney and educator who worked for five decades at the forefront of efforts to maintain religious liberty; Clarence Pendleton Jr., former chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights; the late Dean Kelley, who served prominently for several decades as a leader on religious liberty issues in the National Council of Churches; Barry Fisher, longtime chair of the religious liberty committee of the American Bar Association; and the leaders of a variety of denominations and congregations.
